The HealthLine is a confidential and free telephone line staffed by experienced Registered Nurses. It is available to all residents of Newfoundland and Labrador, of any age. Call 811 at any time, day or night, to speak to a Registered Nurse. They are always there for you.

• Of those who were planning to seek care at the emergency department, 75% were diverted to a lower level of care after speaking with a HealthLine nurse.
• The HealthLine receives over 100 calls per day from people seeking help from all over the province.
• On average only 14% of total callers are referred to the emergency department for care after speaking with the HealthLine nurse.
• HealthLine will provide follow-up calls, with consent, to callers who have contacted the HealthLine because of a mental health or addictions concern.
